Steve Boyd is a Partner of MacDonald Boyd and Associates, an organizational development and leadership consulting firm. From 1982 - 1984, Steve was a Fellow at Harvard University's Center for International Affairs where his research focused on public participation in American foreign policy, theories of strategy, social change, and leadership development. Steve is a certified Systems Renewal Consultant through Organizational Renewal, Inc., The Gordon Lippitt Consulting Group and holds a BA in political science and M. Ed in educational psychology from the University of Washington.
Steve was founder and President of the Washington Leadership Institute and the Washington Governors' School for Citizen Leadership. Founded in 1985, the Washington Leadership Institute is a private, not-for-profit civic enterprise initiating model programs in leadership development, civic education and community service and problem solving with youth and adults. Steve also serves on the Board of Directors of the World Without War Council- USA, The Institute for Creative Development, the Whidbey Institute and New Horizons for Learning.
On a personal note, Steve is married to Dona MacDonald and they have two wonderful and spirited daughters, Mikaela and Maia. A former professional musician, he plays harmonica, flute, clarinet, soprano sax, guitar and congas. Former U of W student body president and Eagle Scout, Steve also claims to be a world class bar-b-que chef!
