Carlie Casey

Dr. Carlie Casey grew up in Maine and earned his BA in Psychology at the University of Maine at Orono (1971). He has an MA (1972) and a Ph.D. (1975) from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

 

From 1975 through 1987, Dr. Casey was a professor of counseling psychology and marriage and family therapy, training and supervising clinicians at the Australian National University, the Boston University Overseas Programs (Germany and Italy), California State University at Fullerton and Montana State University, among others. In addition, he maintained a small, research-oriented clinical practice and a very busy consulting practice.

 

From 1987 through 2004, Dr. Casey was in full-time clinical practice as a licensed psychologist and owner/manager of Bayside Associates, a group clinical practice of over twenty clinicians in Bellingham, Washington. He also continued in the training of clinicians as faculty of the Northwest Satir Institute. In his clinical work Dr. Casey specialized in marriage and family therapy and the treatment of anxiety disorders. Within the Bellingham medical community, he worked closely with primary care practitioners to pioneer a seamless integration of behavioral health services into primary care practice.

 

In 2004, Dr. Casey retired from clinical practice to devote himself full-time to management consulting and executive coaching. In addition to his private work, Dr. Casey is part of two well-established and respected consulting teams based in Washington: Impact Achievement Group (www.impactachievement.com) based in Redmond; and The Human Potential Project (www.humanpotentialproject.com) based in Spokane. Recent corporate and governmental clients include Align Technology, Allianz Insurance, The Boeing Company, The Cobalt Group, the Federal Communications Commission, House Values, the Kroger Company, Nucor Steel and Western Health Advantage, among others.

 

Having been active in ski racing, and having worked as a ski instructor, rock climbing instructor and mountain guide, he remains active in nordic skiing, mountaineering, cycling and kayaking. He is currently active as a Technical Delegate with the United States Ski and Snowboard Association. His favorite activity is hut-to-hut ski touring in Scandinavia.
