Dr. Doreen Cato is Executive Director at First Place, an agency providing academic instruction for grades K-6th, therapy and counseling for families and children who are homeless or at-risk; and Adjunct Faculty at Antioch University. She is a former Detroit Public School educator and major fundraiser for United Way of King County. She currently is a member of King County Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, PNWRC-NAHRO Board, King County Charter Review Commission, Washington State Equitable Opportunity Caucus; League of Women Voters Board; Seattle University Visiting Committee for the Master's Not-For-Profit Leadership Program and Seattle Rotary Downtown Club. She earned her MA in Applied Behavioral Sciences, from Leadership Institute of Seattle/City University. She received her doctorate in Educational Leadership at Seattle University. Doreen has received numerous awards and recognitions for her accomplishments, but she believes her greatest accomplishments were her children Christina and Barron.
