What is the cutoff date for registering for a course?
If space is still available, registrations will be accepted up to the course start date. Registering at least two weeks in advance ensures participants have ample time to complete the required readings and adequately prepare for the first day of class.

When are scholarship decisions made?
Limited scholarships are available. Scholarship decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis and are subject to available funds. Requests must be received at least 60 days in advance of the requested course start date. Decisions will be made three weeks after receipt of the request.

Is there lodging for out-of-area participants?
There are many hotels in convenient proximity to the course location. Rooms usually qualify for the government rate; please inquire at the individual hotel. A list of nearby hotels will be enclosed in the course notebook, which is mailed out three weeks prior to the course start date.

What is the food selection during the course?
Cascade Executive Programs provides a variety of appetizing food selections during the program: continental breakfasts, lunches, and afternoon snacks. Vegetarian options are available. We regret that we are unable to accommodate other dietary restrictions or preferences.

Is there parking?
Parking for courses located on the University of Washington campus in Seattle is $11 per day. In each course notebook, the course location is indicated and a map is enclosed. Cascade is not responsible for parking tickets incurred while attending courses. Most Cascade courses will be held at the Talaris Conference Center located about two miles from the UW Campus. Please note that parking is available at this site for free.

Can Cascade courses count toward an MPA degree through the Evans School?
MPA students at the UW Evans School of Public Affairs may apply for up to a maximum of 12 elective credits to be waived from their degree requirements. Executive MPA students may apply for up to 9 credits to be waived from their degree requirements. Please note that Cascade courses are not graded and you will not earn actual academic credits. Rather, the Evans School accepts completed Cascade coursework in lieu of elective credit hours required to complete your degree. Each five-day course is the equivalent of a three-credit course, each three-day course is the equivalent of a two-credit course, each two-day course is the equivalent of a one-credit course, and the two-week Executive Management Program is the equivalent of a four-credit course. Other universities and professional associations may also accept these courses. For more information, contact the Evans School at 206-543-4900.

How do I earn a Cascade Management Series Certificate of Completion?
Participants who complete between 23–25 course days in any configuration of five-day, three-day, or two-day courses will receive a Certificate of Completion.

What should I wear to the course?
There is no required dress code for the courses. We want our participants to be comfortable; anything from business casual to jeans is acceptable.

What is your payment policy?
Include payment with your registration. Payment must be received 21 days prior to the class start date. All registrations, including registrations without payment, are subject to the cancellation policy. Acceptable forms of payment include check, credit card, and purchase order number. Make checks payable to the University of Washington. If you wish to pay by credit card, contact the Cascade office to make arrangements. Registrations are accepted up until the day before the course start date if spaces are available.

What is your cancellation policy?
You can help us provide the maximum opportunity for interested professionals by notifying us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend a course for which you are registered. Due to the demand for Cascade courses, the limited spaces available, and our efforts to keep tuition low, Cascade must abide by the following cancellation policy:

Cancellations must be received in writing and require a written response from Cascade Executive Programs to be in effect.

More than 21 days prior to a course start date: A participant may withdraw his or her registration and receive a full refund.

Less than 21 days prior to a course start date: Cancellations will be assessed full tuition. You can, however, make special arrangements with Cascade Executive Programs to avoid being assessed the cancellation fee by substituting a candidate at any time prior to the start date of a course. Any materials received by the canceling participant must be passed to the substitute or an additional fee will be assessed for the provision of additional materials.
